This page explains how GSBook (gsbook.in) uses your information when you sign up, buy a course, practise on the portal, or contact support. Written in plain language for students in India.
GSBook is the consumer brand of GSMASTERS TECHNOLOGIES (OPC) PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN: U62099AP2025OPC117329 · PAN: AALCG6980B · GSTIN: 37AALCG6980B1ZD). Based in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Full registered postal address appears only on GST invoices.
What we collect
- Name, email, and mobile number when you create an account.
- Account security info (password is stored hashed; OTP status; basic device/session signals to stop abuse).
- Study activity — courses you open, tests you take, scores, and progress.
- Payment details we need for billing: amount, date, status, and Razorpay order/payment IDs. We do not store your full card number.
- Basic technical logs (IP, browser) to keep the site secure.
- Messages you send us in Support chat.
We do not ask for Aadhaar, PAN, or biometrics for a normal course purchase.
Why we use it
- Create and secure your account (including OTP login where enabled).
- Give you access to courses, notes, MCQs, PYQs, and progress you paid for.
- Process payments, show receipts under My Purchases, and handle refunds where our Refund Policy allows.
- Reply to support requests and fix product issues.
- Prevent fraud and misuse, and meet Indian legal / tax duties.
- Send transactional messages (OTP, purchase confirmation, important account alerts). Marketing only if you opt in.
By signing up, verifying OTP, or buying a course, you agree to this use. You can ask us to stop non-essential processing anytime via Support. We may still keep records we must hold for tax, disputes, or law.
Payments
Card, UPI, and net-banking payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive confirmation that you paid and the identifiers needed for receipts and support. Your full card details stay with the payment provider, not on GSBook.
Cookies
We use essential cookies / local storage so you stay logged in, keep language preference, and the site stays secure. We do not run third-party ad trackers on the study portal today. If we add analytics cookies later, we will update this page.
Who we share with
We do not sell your personal data. We share only what is needed to run GSBook:
- Razorpay — to collect fees and confirm payment.
- SMS / email providers (when configured) — to send OTP and transactional mail.
- Hosting providers that store the app and database securely.
- Authorities when Indian law requires it.
How long we keep data
Account and study records stay while your account is active, and for a reasonable time after if needed for support. Payment and tax records are kept as Indian tax rules require (often several years). OTPs expire quickly and are not kept as reusable secrets.
Your rights (India — DPDP Act, 2023)
You can ask us to:
- See a summary of personal data we hold about you.
- Correct incomplete or wrong details.
- Delete data we no longer need (subject to legal retention).
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing.
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (below).
Send a request through Support chat with the subject “Privacy request”. We aim to respond within a reasonable time under Indian law.
Students under 18
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should create or approve the account and consent on your behalf.
Security
Passwords are hashed. Admin access is restricted. No system is perfectly safe — use a strong password and never share OTPs.
